As troubling as it is, the rarer these trophy hunted animals become, the more hunters are willing to pay to kill them — like the American hunter who recently paid $350,000 to kill a criti­cally endan­gered black rhino in Namibia.

Poachers are killing rhinos at an alarm­ing rate – if they continue like this rhinos will disap­pear from our planet within our lifetime.

The zebra’s biggest threats are habitat loss due to ranch­ing and farming and compe­ti­tion for water with livestock. Historically, there were over 15,000 Grevy’s zebras. However, there are only about 2,500 remain­ing today.
